T-Ball League: Ages 4-6
Rookie League: Ages 7 & 8
Minor League: Ages 9 & 10
Major League: Ages 11 & 12

*Note: players are still eligible for draft at the higher level (e.g. 6 year olds can be drafted to Rookie, 8 year olds can be drafted to Minor, 10 year olds can be drafted to Major). Additional information regarding the player evaluation process by age group will be shared shortly.

What changed?
We eliminated the Peewee division (previously ages 6 & 7) and revised the age brackets according to Babe Ruth League standards. We also changed the names of the divisions to match with Babe Ruth standards: The formerly named “Juniors” is now Minor league and “Seniors” is now Major league.

Why are we making this change?
This aligns GKYBSA to Babe Ruth League’s national standards for Cal Ripken divisions (see reference below). Following these standards helps ensure we’re focusing on teaching the fundamentals of baseball and age appropriate skill development. Our goal at GKYBSA is to establish a fun environment for kids of all skill levels to learn and love the sport of baseball.

How does this impact you?
We understand that during this year of transition there may be some confusion over appropriate player placement. Our board members and commissioners will be available at the Spring evaluations in March to address any of your questions and ensure your children are appropriately placed for this year. Event invitations with additional details about player evaluations will be posted shortly.

**NOTE: All children will need to attend evaluations with the exception of:
*T-ball and Senior league kids who played last year
